Scripture

The World English Bible, “updated” edition with the deuterocanonical books, from eBible.org. It is in the public domain and is shown exactly as published. Old Testament and Psalm wording can differ from what you hear in church. Psalms are numbered as the Orthodox Church numbers them (Septuagint), with the Hebrew number noted beneath.

In Settings you can also read in the King James Version (the standard 1769 text) or the Douay-Rheims Bible (the 1899 American edition), both in the public domain, with their text from eBible.org.

Calendar, saints, readings and fasting

From Orthocal (orthocal.info, maintained by Brian Glass, MIT licence).

This is an approximation of each church’s calendar, not the church’s own publication. Where your parish’s calendar differs, your parish is right. Only the New Calendar is included.

Lives of the saints

The short lives under “See more” on Today are from the Prologue from Ochrid by St Nikolai Velimirović, translated into English by Rdr. Marcian Sakarya and published at OCHRID.COM under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence. They give the lives of the saints the Prologue includes for each day, so they do not cover every saint commemorated.

From the Fathers

Excerpts from the Church Fathers, from English translations in the public domain: Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers (ed. Philip Schaff), Ante-Nicene Fathers (eds. Roberts and Donaldson), the Library of the Fathers, and the Catena Aurea of Thomas Aquinas in John Henry Newman’s translation. They were found through the HistoricalChristianFaith database and checked against the published text. Each excerpt shows its Father, work and series. Quotations from the Catena Aurea carry the attribution Aquinas’s compilers gave them.

Prayers

From Orthodox Daily Prayers (St. Tikhon’s Seminary Press, 1982), as published on Project Gutenberg, which lists it as public domain in the United States. The wording is St. Tikhon’s and will differ from the translation your parish uses.
